Seeing Your Photograph

It is one thing to see your photograph before you take it, but it is entirely another thing to “see” your photograph after you have taken it and are looking at the final print. After you take the photograph, the finished print will probably not be exactly what you saw in the viewfinder. This is ok, if you are merely filing the print away in a box or put it in a family album, or post it on line. Street Musician

The photo of the week takes us to the French Quarter in New Orleans. Music is everywhere there. This street musician was a member of a trio playing outside Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter. It is one of several shots I took of him and other members of the group playing for the entertainment of  the people in the cafe who were eating the powered sugared French beignets and drinking the special coffee blended with chicory. Add Impact to Your Subject

If you enjoy taking photographs of people,, flowers scenes or just about anything for that matter, you never have took very far to find a subject. The big problem is trying to add impact to your photograph. The problem is not with the camera, but with the person behind the camera. Used properly, an inexpensive camera can give you just as much impact as a very expensive one. It is the person behind the camera that counts. Mississippi River Fisherman

You will find fisherman along the river from the very source all the way down to the gulf in boats of all shapes and sizes. This fisherman was waiting for the fish to really take the bait before setting the hook. However, the fish did not cooperate.
